Ready for Fall 2008

It’s that time already.  Fall 2008 is around the corner, and I’m ready for it.  After coming back from vacations in Puerto Rico I’ve been busy with work.  However, I have some free time that I really don’t know how to spend haha.  Free time, that’s the main reason why I want this fall semester to start.  I know there pressures during the semester and that it could be time consuming, but I’ll feel like doing something productive.  I always think positive about a new semester…it’s not just another semester, it’s one more step toward my goal!! See you later!

The perfect place to be!

After a busy semester I have been dedicating some time to myself , family and friends.  I love living in Northwest Indiana…why? well this is a nice and quite neighborhood, but thank God the big city of CHICAGO is not that far from here.

I think Northwest Indiana is the perfect place to be.  You can get an education at Purdue University, of course, but at the same time you can go to Chicago and do some fun stuff.  I think it is the perfect combination.

So…now I will continue having a fun summer, hanging out with friends and getting ready for my trip to Puerto Rico and St Thomas during the month of July.  See you all later!

I made it!!

I made it!! I made it!! I feel very relax now that I finished with one of the roughest semesters so far.  It wasn’t a hard semester, but all the work load was tremendous.  I’m hoping to end up with good grades.

So…I’m not going for summer classes, I decided that this summer I will go to my homeland, Puerto Rico.  I’m looking forward to see my family and enjoy what I’m expecting to be one of the best summers ever.

You will probably read me again next semester!!

Finals!!

Hello everyone…yeah it’s that time now, final exams are around the corner.  I have been so stressed out with papers, presentations, and now studying for the finals.  Time management is very important during these times.  Remember, whether you are a current student or planning on becoming a college student, you must be prepared for times like these.  There is a lot of pressure, but it also feels good to know that you have completed one more step in your academic life.

Teaching is my thing!

As I previously mentioned in one of  my posts, this semester was time to do some field of experience.  I went to observe a classroom at Morton High School for few weeks and it was awesome!

Now I know that teaching is my thing.  I had the opportunity to observe the different ways the students behave inside the classroom.  I also helped the teacher with basics classroom tasks.  Most of the students were really nice and they were also talking to me like if I was a teacher already, it felt good!!

Since I was a young boy I have always wanted to become a teacher.  Finally, Purdue University Calumet is allowing me to see that dream to come true!!

The new Gyte computer lab!!

One of the newest attractions at Purdue University Calumet is the new Gyte computer lab that they opened on Fall 2007.  I really love this new lab.  They have two big rooms with computers and a small resting room with comfortable chairs where you can sit, use your laptop, and study.  They have several staff stations so if you have any technical questions they are there to help you!!  If you are a current student at Purdue and have never been there I recommend you go and take a look, this is a really nice place to be.  And if you are a prospective student planning on visiting us you must visit the lab!

Field of Experience!!

I am a secondary education major and I have to admit it, I was a little afraid when they told me I was going to start doing some field of experience this semester.  Now I am quite excited about this.  I will get to do it at the same high school I graduated from, Morton High School.  This field of experience is part of my diversity class which is a pre-methods class.  I will get the opportunity of observing the students in a classroom setting.  I will finally experience how it feels to be in a classroom from a different perspective.  So I will be looking forward to tell you about some of these experiences!!
