Registration Madness

Filed under: Uncategorized — Gina Paglis @ 9:22 am and

So, here we are again. I cannot believe it is time to register for upcoming semesters already.  It’s hard to wrap ones brain around the idea of registering for summer semesters when there is snow falling outside, however - there it is.

Registration can be frustrating, even for upperclassmen let alone for freshman. The whole process can be tricky - from finding the right classes, to trying to get an appointment with an advisor.  Oftentimes, there is this feeling that it HAS to get done the first week as soon as it opens, and in some cases that is true.  In situations where you just have to have that one important class it can be high pressure.  But, a tip to remember - you don’t have to register for everything you’re planning on taking all at once.

If you are in a situation where you have to have a particular class for your upcoming semester - than jump in, on day one, and get registered for that class. This doesn’t mean that you have to have your entire semester planned out.  You can go back a few days - or even a week later - and get in your other classes.

Realizing that it doesn’t have to happen immediately can help take the pressure off. In addition, if you take some time to step back and think about the classes you’re going to want then you have a better chance to get the classes that you want to be in.

So…. RELAX!!! And, Good Luck!

Hey Everyone!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Gina Paglis @ 1:13 pm and

So, let me start by saying hi to everyone.  This is my first post as a new blogger here at PUC.  I’m pretty excited because I feel like I have a lot to say about campus life, stresses, and figuring out how to juggle it all.  I’m a “non-traditional” student as we are called.  Meaning, I came back to college after being out in the workforce for several years after high school.

I am going to begin by telling you all a little about myself.  I’m an Elemenatry Education major here, my plan is to continue on here at PUC after I earn my Bachelors to go on for my Master’s degree in Special Education. I really enjoy being here on campus.  There is such a great energy here, there is always something going on.  I do live off campus, I live in a tiny apartment in Griffith with my son, Christopher.  I figured I should introduce you to him now since I’m sure he’ll make an appearance in future posts.  Chris is 12 years old, and he may very well be the coolest 12 year old on the planet.

I hope you all enjoy my posts, I’ll try to keep them interesting.

 Talk soon!!

Peace
